I was given a project of redesigning a Allen and Torx driver chest. The Innovation center had 10 metric and 10 standard allen drivers and 6 torx drivers. Making a device that will hold every driver and try to make it the most useful as possible.
"Pre-Serch"
Looked at several different designs that people have created and are for sale at several hardware stores. Gathered several ideas to complete the redesign task.
Sketches
I first started my designing by getting measurements of all the Allan and torx drivers. I also sketched out a couple designs and picked my favorite option. I started leaning to a design that would display each driver at a different angle. With all the drivers inserted into the holder, it would almost look like a 1/4 circle.
Inventor
I spent the first day getting all the dimensions and degrees of the different faces that will hold the drivers. Then I went and spaced out the holes for each driver. Then made room for the hinge in the back of the tool chest. And finally took out some material so that it would save print time and material.

Inventor Pt. 2
I made the holes for the wrenches a bit bigger for a nicer easier fit. I also took out a lot more material to save on cost but it required more printing time because of the supports needed.

Summary
This was a very fun project. I learned some critical guidelines to follow in my experience building this redesign. First, one was to always make hole at least 3% bigger then what they measure for printer error. The second one is the READ before you do something. I am satisfied with my Redesign. I think it will be hard to beat my design and how it displays the wrenches. Looking forward to seeing what other products are brought to the table next class.
